Education, Carnegie Hall National High School Choral Festival
Participating Choirs

In a process beginning directly after the 2007-2008 National High School Choral Festival, the cream of American high school choirs was selected from more than 80 applicants from around the nation. A record number of entries was received for this year's program, resulting in a very competitive judging process, before the four choirs below were selected.

Conducted by Beth Prins the North Jersey Homeschool Association Chorale has been recognized for its contribution to the community and commitment to musical excellence. The choir, a three-time national winner of the American Association of Christian Schools, has participated in the Heritage Gold Festival, singing in Chicago in 2007 and New York City in 2008. The NJHSA Chorale has toured throughout several states, performing up to thirty concerts a year.

Pebblebrook High School Chamber Choir is conducted by George Case and is comprised of the most advanced vocal students at the Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts, Atlanta, Georgia. The Choir performs works from all periods of classical music, emphasizing twentieth and twenty-first century compositions. The Choir performs regularly throughout the Greater Atlanta Area with groups such as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Cobb Symphony Orchestra.

Led by John Hendrix, the Shorewood High School Aeolian Choir in Shoreline, Washington, is comprised mainly of juniors and seniors, and rehearses three days per week preparing and performing choral music in a range of classical and popular styles. In addition to performing in their local community, the Aeolian Choir has represented the Shoreline community in venues from Southern California to British Columbia.

Songs of Solomon: An Inspirational Ensemble, Inc., was founded in 2001 by Chantel Renee Wright as an answer to youth who desired to express their artistic self through all forms of inspirational music. Comprised of youth of all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, the ensemble has performed all over the country, and with Elton John, Jessye. The Ensemble is a past-winner of the McDonalds Gospelfest, and the Pathmark Gospel Choir Competition.
