Gary Fritz

Gary Fritz, born in New York City, was blessed to be raised in a musical environment. Born from the union of a dancer-model and a drummer-percussionist, Fritz was exposed to a wide variety of cultural flavors and musical styles at an early age. He began studying piano at age five, and performed his first recital at age six. Fritz has pursued his love for music since he was placed in a music class in fourth grade. His public school studies have included training in trumpet, French horn, percussion, and voice. In private study, Fritz also pursued electric bass; drums; congas; and Latin, ethnic, and electronic percussion.

In 1974, while studying music at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, Fritz decided to pursue a professional musical career. He has performed a wide variety of musical styles and flavors, including folk, pop, rock, rap, rhythm and blues, jazz, fusion, world beat, spoken word, big band, orchestra, and gospel. His talents have been featured in dance classes and dance companies, as well as in television, cable, video, and film soundtracks. Fritz has also toured internationally since 1991.

Along with leading his own band, Seventh Heaven, Fritz has performed with some of the industry’s top talents: George Benson, Alex Bugnon, The Black Rock Coalition Orchestra, The Brand New Heavies, Reverend James Cleveland, Charles Earland, Roberta Flack, Onaje Allan Gumbs, Ralph MacDonald, Vernon Reid, and The Winans, among others.
